LAKTAŠI, Containers for waste, unique on the domestic market, and recognized abroad, have been produced by the Lataši company "Vendom" for sixteen years.

Boro and Sandra Đukanović founded the company "Vendom" in 2003, in which only the two of them worked, to develop into a large company with over a hundred employees.

Although from different branches, they found themselves in this story and started with the production, first of semi-finished products, and with years of development they came to finished containers for waste and cranes for vehicles that empty containers.

"We started from simple positions that we did primarily for the Swiss market, so we assembled those positions and semi-finished products into finished products," said Đukanović in an interview with the CAPITAL portal.

They entered the business as planned, by first finding a market for their products in Switzerland and Denmark, and only then starting production.

"We have more than 100 employees, we export to Switzerland and Denmark, which are not in the European Union, to the entire EU market, and we even had a portion of exports to Morocco and Africa," Đukanović said.

She explained that these containers are not used in BiH or the region.

"These are underground and above-ground waste containers and cranes that are mounted on vehicles. With the help of these cranes, the containers are removed from the bed in the ground and emptied. It is our basic product by which we are recognizable, so we practically have no competition here. In addition, we also make all other types of metal constructions and products, according to customer requests or according to the solutions of our engineers," Đukanović emphasized.

They increased the number of workers by 100 percent in the past year, because their exports increased by 50 percent compared to 2017. Every year they grow and expand.

"We plan expansions every year." We have five halls and 10,000 square meters of production and twice as much outdoor space. "As far as investments are concerned, our priority is the acquisition of new and modernization of existing machines," said Đukanović.

She added that the value of the planned investments, this year alone is about 1.5 million KM.

"We have no major business problems because we have a stable market, regular customers, and no competitors." The only problem is the noticeable lack of manpower, and we don't have a system to stop it," Đukanović emphasized.

In this company from Laktaši, wages are above the average in Bosnia and Herzegovina and are getting closer to the salaries that workers in Germany have.

"Vendom" was recently awarded by the RS Chamber of Commerce for the best medium-sized company in Srpska.
